Sustainable laptop? Choose Swaptop!
Handy and functional such a laptop, but sustainable? That is not something you immediately think of. Swaptop finds sustainability very important. Did you know that 350 KG of CO2 is emitted when making a laptop? This is mainly due to the production process and the choice of materials. But also think about your own energy consumption, when you have a well-maintained laptop it will last much longer without having to charge it, this saves you a lot of ''charging stress'' and is also good for the environment. So looking for a sustainable laptop? Choose Swaptop!
How Swaptop strives for sustainable laptop use

What is more sustainable, a laptop or a desktop?
The durability of a computer obviously depends on the model and the use that is made of it. However, the general difference between a laptop and a desktop is very clearly visible.
Material costs
If we were to place a laptop and a desktop next to each other, it quickly becomes clear where most of the material costs are. Where a laptop presents the screen, keyboard, mouse and computer in a compact solution, these components are usually separate products in a desktop.
This means that making a laptop requires 75 percent less material and raw materials than making a desktop!
Energy consumption
In addition, a laptop is also more than 70 percent more economical in energy consumption: approximately 55 kWh annually (this is € 12 per year). A new desktop with LCD monitor will cost you much more annually: an average of 200 kWh (this is € 45 per year, price level 2020).
For example, a laptop consumes about a third of the energy consumed by a desktop.
In standby, the consumption of a computer (both desktop and laptop) drops to about a third. By putting the screen in standby, its consumption is reduced by 15%. If the screen is turned off completely, of course, no more energy is consumed.
A laptop is therefore much more sustainable than a desktop. And then Swaptop goes the extra mile to be able to deliver a sustainable laptop to you too.
