2-step verification (2FA)

Even with a strong password, someone can still try to break in. That's why 2-step verification (2FA) is important.

What is 2FA?

In addition to your password, you must also provide additional proof that it is you.
For example:

• An SMS code

• A notification in the app on your phone

• A code from an authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator)

Why is 2FA so good?

Even if someone knows your password:

• They can't log in without your phone

• 2FA blocks 99% of all break-in attempts

Where to definitely enable 2FA

• Your email (Gmail, Outlook, Apple ID)

• Banking apps

• DigiD

• Social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)

• Cloud storage (OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud)

It sometimes takes an extra minute, but it protects you enormously.
