Which personal data is sensitive?

Not all data is equally risky, but some data needs extra protection.

Highly sensitive data

• Passwords

• BSN (citizen service number)

• Bank and credit card details

• Passport or ID photos

• Medical data

• Login codes

• 2FA codes

These must never be shared, not even with “customer service” when someone asks.

Sensitive data

• Address

• Phone number

• Private photos

• Location data

• Business logins

Less sensitive, but still personal data

• Areas of interest

• Purchasing behavior

• Surfing behaviour

• Devices you use

On their own, these are not dangerous, but in combination they can give criminals or companies a lot of information about you.
